Description

A manufacturing client of ours in the Grand Rapids, MI area is searching for Molding / Process Technicians on 2nd and 3rd shift. Pay is experience based. In this role you will provide comprehensive production and maintenance support of product specific injection molding cells to minimize machine down-time and optimize productivity.

Duties of a Process Technician: 

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to production downtime situations to maximize injection mold up-time.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on rubber and plastic injection molding in timely and efficient manner identifying potential items in need of future maintenance.
  • Use MVP CMMS documents to record appropriate PM, downtime, and spare parts information.
  • Properly follow spare parts management procedure to identify, inventory, and properly store critical spare parts.
  • Ensures that preventive maintenance paperwork is completed efficiently and timely manner.
  • Perform Process Verification procedures and Process Deviation procedures on injection mold cells when changing necessary parameters.
  • Assists in training in installation and documentation of injection mold systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements to ensure injection press is performing at peak
  • Communicate work cell issues, specific machine issues, and work cell downtime etc using communication methods provided.
  • Adhere to safety practices including lockout/tagout. Focus on safety should primarily be the main objective when troubleshooting or working on equipment. Also report immediately any potential safety issues on work cells pertaining to machine function, operator interface, or work methods.
  • Attend necessary training classes or seminars as directed by department manager.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree, Journeyman’s Card or three years of applicable Injection Mold Technician experience or a combination of experience and education.

  • Must understand rubber and plastic molding in a lean manufacturing environment. 

  • 1 - 3 years experience in the field
