A manufacturing client of ours in the Walker, MI area is searching for a Safety Manager. You will be responsible for evaluating, developing, preparing, and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures at our North American facilities and with our in-field representatives. This opportunity pay is experience based.

Duties of a Safety Manager:

• Lead safety team
•  Promote and ensure effective safety operations by conducting safety inspections, administering investigation training, and communicating accident prevention.
• Lead a cross-functional safety committee, engaging and inspiring team members by communicating the team vision, mentoring others, and providing technical support.
• Utilize experience as a safety professional with safety guidelines and OSHA standards

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field
• Work experience includes at least 8 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment; experience in a managerial role preferred
• Extensive knowledge of safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and government regulations and write applicable reports and procedures to implementing your findings
• Able to travel overnight up to 30-50%, working throughout our facilities as required
