Principal Responsibilities

This job requires to perform inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, and tooling. Inspection function is through a FARO arm, 3D scanner, etc. to ensure conformity to drawings, specifications, and requirements as per customer PO flow down. Understanding and ability to create First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102

Duties:

• Performs First Article Inspection per AS9102.
• Must be able to follow quality assurance procedures and methods to production planning documents, drawings, and other instructions
• Understanding and Adherence to RSA’s tooling procedure per BMS-75-14
• Performs inspection of welded assemblies, parts, sub-assemblies, tools to determine conformance to 3D models, specifications, and dimensional requirements. Tool inspections require certification logs and reports
• Proficient knowledge on the use of various measurement instruments, review and analysis of blueprints/drawings, and GD&T basics
• Determine part inspection requirements from customer's (geometric) blueprint features including 2D and 3D definition
• Use of Verisurf software or similar, along with inspection tools such as 3D Scanners, FARO Arm, etc.
• Conversion of measured data from PC-DMIS and Faro to Verisurf programs and analyze for disposition
• Generate and methodically review professional reports of measurement results and suggest solutions based on inspection data, when required.
• Analyze and troubleshoot set-ups and inspections paths

Essential Physical/ Mental Abilities Required:

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger (keyboard) and reach with hands and arms; required to sit long periods of time, occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education/ Experience:

High School or Equivalent and some trade school. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Inspector/Technician in an aerospace environment (AS9100).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing – ANSI Y14.5,
• Coordinate measuring machine operation & programming
• Faro Arm, 3D scanner experience is preferred but it is not required with sufficient PC-DMIS skills.
• Working knowledge and ability to create First article inspection report per AS9102
• Knowledge of assembly fixture design practices and inspection fixture design criteria of ASME Y14.42.
• Must be able to use inspection and measuring tools and gauges in support of conformance verification of attributes tolerance
• Must be able to prepare inspection reports and input data into computer databases.
• Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action analysis and execution focused on the elimination of root cause, Ability to work under limited supervision.
• Ability to interpreted and use of model (parts, tools) with SolidWorks and CATIA V5
