A client of ours in the Jackson, MI area is looking for a Quality Specialist.

Duties of a Quality Specialist:

  • Aid the Quality Manager with the maintenance of and adherence to all aspects of the current Quality Management System, including ensuring QMS processes are established, standardized, implemented and maintained. 
  • Review customer quality requirements, assist with timely and effective problem containment and resolution of customer, internal or vendor concerns and support other plant Quality and Manufacturing personnel. 
  • Monitor, update and keep current the QMS, including work instructions, documents and records.
  • Willing to learn AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards to provide training to leadership and plant personnel.
  • Participate in the development of approved / certified suppliers through tracking of key performance indicators as well as confirming required certification / approval status.
  • Willing to learn defining and providing input to mitigate risks in all aspects of the quoting, purchasing, order management and manufacturing processes, including providing input to evaluate proposed process changes as needed.

Job Requirements

  • 5 yrs. experience in Quality Inspection in aerospace, automotive, or medical supplier facility.
  • Experience with / willing to learn QMS system in aerospace or automotive supplier facility.
  • High degree of integrity and personal ethics while being self-motivated and able to demonstrate a sense of urgency when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers, suppliers and company personnel.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and team leadership skills.
  • Preferably proficient in GD&T and blueprint reading as well as interpreting CMM inspection results.
  • Competent in use of personal computers and proficient in MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as Process Capability, Problem Solving.
  • Willing to learn 8D, FMEA, Gauge R&R, SPC, etc.
  • Knowledge of: CAD systems (SolidWorks or AutoCad), CMM inspection equipment, ASQ Certification (any level), Certified Lead or Internal Auditor Trained, Experience maintaining a QMS that is ISO 9001-2015 based (ie. AS9100D, TS16949, etc.)
