PTTH Senior Production Lead 

12 months + leadership skills

Job Summary:

Under the authority of the production supervisor, the senior lead ensures the efficient and safe management of manufacturing operation in accordance with the current procedures, specifications, and good manufacturing practices to meet quality and achieve production objectives.

Shift hrs. 3:00AM-3:30PM and 3:00PM-3:30AM

rotating schedule

Example of hours work: 32 regular hrs. and 16 OT hrs.

pay weekly 1,120.00 before taxes 

Main Functions:

1. to begin shift, review staffing by area and ensure compliance with staffing requirements listed in production schedule. Any deviations from requirements must be immediately reported to production supervisor.

2. Owner of the proper execution of all changeover events, including the timely execution of all preparation activities, proper completion of sanitation tracking sheet, holding operators accountable to completing tasks with allocation time standards, and the escalation of any situations that could impact 100% changeover attainment.

3. Ensure applicable employees have plan in place to receive the necessary training to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.

4. Ensure employees comply with Nellson timekeeping/meal/rest break policies.

5. Ensure employees comply with Nellson safety rules and regulations.

6. Ensure employees comply with applicable procedures as well as safety, food safety and quality standards (HACCP and GMP).

7. Ensure all employees are maintaining their tools of trade in a appropriate manner and address employees who frequently damage or loose such tools.

8. Ensure employees are managing allergens according to the regulations of the company's allergen program including proper use of colors-coded tools.

9. Report any violations of company policy to production supervisor.

10. To begin shift ensure line & quality specifications are available to all operators. Senior Lead must approve any deviations from line specifications and understand rot cause for deviation.

11. Check the print quality, dimensions, and functionality of packaging material being used at the start of a new production. Provide mechanics with necessary materials to set up the line.

12. Full completion of pre-flight checklists and specifically, not dropping the first batch until all equipment is deemed to be in proper working condition by both line operators and mechanics and all available automation is functional.

13. Conduct Structured Rounds on an hourly basis to understand and be able to speak to performance of the line to Management and Production Supervisor, including main downtime drivers, waste drivers, line speeds, and corrective actions needed to meet scheduled hourly rate.

14. Review SPC Control Charts and Downtime Logs as part of Structured Rounds for proper completion and to drive decision making to increase line uptime and reduce waste.

15. Ensure team members are motivated and evaluate members on individual performance. Address areas of opportunities through individualized training and support their development within the company.


Job Requirements

Required Competencies:
Food Safety Training.

Experience in Food Factory.

Knowledge of the HACCP standard.

Have aptitude for mechanics.

Demonstrate leadership to maintain discipline and a good work climate.

Ability to make timely strategic decisions and successfully execute them.

High speed of execution and tolerance to stress.

Bilingual speaking skills in both English and Spanish preferred.

The ability to work independently; ensure responsive timely follow-up; meeting of deadlines; demonstrate a sense of urgency; ability to prioritize; organizational skills.

Excellent Communication Skills.

Managerial Responsibility: 3 Leads the work of others including planning, assigning, scheduling, reviewing work, and ensuring quality standards. Is responsible for training, developing, reviewing performance. Plans organizational structure and job content.

Work Environment: This position almost constantly works on the manufacturing floor. There is sufficient noise to cause employees to shout to be heard above noise level, vibration, working near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and close quarters. Exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans. Exposure to warm, balmy environments.
Physical Requirements: This position frequently is required to hear, listen, talk, stand, walk, and use of hands. May be required to climb ladders and stairs, bend/stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull, kneel/squat, balance and lift up to 50 pounds
