ResourceMFG is hiring for a SolidWorks CAD Drafter for a local manufacturing facility. Familiarity with Solidworks is a requirement for this position.

Description: This role will partner with manufacturing engineers and production leaders in one department to perform a comprehensive review and revision of product design records, which will primarily consist of SolidWorks assemblies, part CAD models, and drawings.

  • Prepare engineering models and drawings for mechanical and optomechanical parts and assemblies
  • Comprehend and utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerance stack up
  • Interface with internal and external machine shops
  • Review and propose design modification to increase production efficiency
  • Upload design records (models and drawings) to the CVI document repository
  • Provide timely updates for drawing completion and workload
  • Coordinate with other colleagues regarding complex diagrams
  • Identifies, recommends, and drives opportunities for improvement within the design record creation process.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in mechanical drafting required
  • Working proficiency in Solidworks
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply a variety of job-related instructions and documents, including engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks both of similar and varying priority.
  • Demonstrated ability to be deadline and detail-oriented
  • Working knowledge of ASME and ISO drawing standards preferred
  • Independent initiative and ability to efficiently acquire substantial knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and products.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Superb creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate effectively through email, presentations, and technical documents.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in high-stress situations.
