A client of ours in the Grand Rapids, MI area is in need for a Mold/Die Tool Machinist on first shift. Pay for this position is experience based. This position will be responsible for safely operating, maintaining and working under the direction of the Tooling Supervisor to repair, fabricate or build components as required.

Duties of a Mold / Die Tool Machinist:

Machine Operation:

• Safely operate machine tool equipment.
• Fabricate, repair and build components as directed.
• Follow all OSHA requirements in toolroom operations.

Quality:

• Perform assigned duties with a Quality minded approach.
• Work with Process and Engineering personnel to realize projects related to production changes, revisions and improvements to increase productivity.
• Must be cost conscience, alert, responsive and consistent.

Efficiency:

• Must plan, coordinate and daily activities with toolroom staff.
• Assist Company as required to optimize tooling costs.
• Assist with the required periodic inspections of both Company and Customer owned 

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and Technical Training, Trade School Diploma or equivalent experience.

• Engineering level math skills.

•  Basic computer skills.

• Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and other plant and office personnel.

• Ability to interact professionally with suppliers and contractors.

• Must be a self-starter, organized and dedicated, with good record keeping skills.  Must be able to cope with and work efficiently with restrictive time frames and unpredictable situations.
