Our client who is a worldwide leader of orthopedic medical device outsourcing, providing contract design and manufacturing services to the medical device market is in need of a skilled Maintenance Technician. This is s 1st shift Direct Hire opportunity, with pay based on experience, ranging between $25 to $30 hourly.

Location: Chelsea, MI

Duties of a Maintenance Technician include:

• Troubleshoot plant equipment; isolate the cause of equipment malfunctions in accordance with diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturer’s equipment specifications.
• Use tools ranging from common power tools, hoists, saws, drills, to precision measuring instruments and electrical meters.
• Maintain machines, equipment, tools, and work area in a clean and safe manner
• Load and unload trucks using lift truck
• Responsible for maintaining accurate history of PM work performed
• Training responsibilities for level I Maintenance Technicians.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Supervisor or Lead.
• Must be proficient in reading Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic schematics
• Must be familiar with Injection Molding machines, , manual and CNC milling machines and lathes.
• Candidate must have the ability to be cross-functional and multi-tasked in the department
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as with others with proven attention to accuracy and detail
• Comfortable using a computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, MS Outlook, Excel and Word and good basic math skills
• Work may have some required overtime depending on needs of the company

Job Requirements

• Frequent lifting of 30 to 60 lbs.
• Work performed in manufacturing environment where exposure to a number of elements occurs.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Corrected vision of 20/20, preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced quality –oriented manufacturing environment.
• Operates a computer daily
• Willing and able to work long hours including overtime as required.
• At least 2 years industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Factory training in repair and maintenance of CNC machining equipment and/or Robotics preferred.
