A skilled CMM Technician is needed at a client of ours, located in Eaton Rapids, MI. This is a 2nd or 3rd shift Direct Hire opportunity with salary being based on experience. Previous experience in the programming and/or operation of a Coordination Measuring Machine (CMM) is required.

Duties of a CMM Technician include:

  • Set an example through good work habits.
  • Practice good housekeeping activities and good record keeping.
  • Operate and maintain CMM
  • Perform Layout inspections and interpret results
  • Attend tooling meetings as requested and provide data as requested
  • Attend Quality/Process improvement meetings.
  • Complete paperwork as required for all customer sample submissions (PPAP, etc.).
  • Coordinate and perform the necessary calibrations.
  • Coordinate and perform the necessary programming and gage R&R studies.
  • Engage in Advanced Quality planning meetings as requested.
  • Perform process capability studies.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment.
  • Ability to write complex layout programs.
  • Engage in appropriate continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and organize current part CMM inspection programs and inspection log.

Job Requirements

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.  Must be able to work shift work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate inspection results to different departments
  • Strong command of the English language (written and oral).
  • Strong team player qualities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
  • Ability to read and understand automotive blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of automotive S.P.C. techniques
  • Understanding of gaging concepts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive quality systems (TS16949, etc.).
  • Able to collect, analyze and make effective decisions on data and products.
  • Must have good record keeping skills.
