ResourceMFG has a great opportunity for a QA supervisor within a cosmetic manufacturing company in Chatsworth, CA.


Pay: $60K – 90K DOE

Hours: 7am – 4pm

Monday – Friday ( Plus overtime and weekends)


POSITIONS TITLE:             QA Supervisor  


Position Description):

Supervise the incoming packaging and on-line inspection areas within the quality assurance department and provide hands on participation in daily operations. Provide information and support to manufacturing to assist  in the execution of their jobs.


Essential Functions

  • Supervise the daily QA on-line operations and incoming packaging laboratory. Schedule staff as necessary.                20 %
  • Maintain inspection records for in-coming, in-process and final inspection.  Assist in developing inspection protocols.  Audit paperwork for completeness and accuracy.  Release OTC reconciliation paperwork in a timely manner and maintain all OTC paperwork.             20 %
  • Provide training to QA Inspectors and key production personnel on SPC, GMP, customer requirements and other related topics.       10 %
  • Assist in all facets of the quality program including: root cause investigation, training, statistical process control, control of non-conforming materials, documentation control, control of quality records.                20 %
  • Communicate with external customers and vendors on issues related to quality inspection and/or troubleshooting 10%
  • Review and approve internal fill and assembly specifications for manufacturability and conformance to customer specifications 10%
  • Generate and assist Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations.  Provide recommendations on NCR and OOS corrective actions.   10%


Nonessential Functions:

  • Ensure appropriate training of employees in their job functions and provide quality systems and task training to Quality Assurance and Production employees.             
  • Prepare summary reports of tasks, results and systems along with metrics on materials, products, non-conformances, etc.        


Other duties as assigned by management            

  • Machinery/tools/office equipment which must be used in order to perform the essential functions of the job (please be specific): torque meters, vacuum chambers, balances, calipers


Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years related experience preferably in a similar industry including direct supervision of 5-10 employees


Preferred Education:

  • BS degree, Engineering preferred.
