Description

A client of ours in the Battle Creek, MI area is looking for a Purchasing and Procurement Agent for their Metal Finishing manufacturing facility. This opportunity will be on 1st shift with a starting wage of $24.00 per hour for this direct hire opportunity.

Duties of a Purchasing and Procurement Agent:

  • Responsible for the purchasing functions of the Company.
  • Develops and organizes the purchasing and vendor contracting activities for the company.
  • Supports and maintains business relationships with suppliers to ensure supply of quality goods and services on time and at the best available value. Monitors inventory levels with departments.
  • Supports the purchasing team to ensure on-time supply of quality goods and services at the lowest possible cost.
  • Drives and coordinates continuous improvement activities based on audit, customer, and employee feedback.
  • Must follow the business processes as written for the assigned department. Helps ensure processes are followed by all.
  • Measures the procurement related processes that result in improved efficiencies and effectiveness of the team.
  • Measures the purchase requisition queues to convert purchase requisition into Purchase Order (PO).
  • Supports inventory analysis, including the adequacy of reserves, and assists in the development and maintenance of systems of internal control over inventory while ensuring proper shop
    floor control and reporting. Assists with labor collection, reporting systems, organizing/reconciling physical inventory
    and cycle counting processes.
  • Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, blueprints, and other applicable documentation to effectively prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

 

 

Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Has an associate's degree or equivalent in related field
  • 1 - 3 years' experience - Minimum of 1-3 years' of previous experience working in related field
  • knowledge and experience in using ERP and SAP
    Systems, and Jobscope.
  • Working Knowledge of general office software, e.g. MS Office
    Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and strategic planning
