A client of ours in the Battle Creek, MI area is looking for a Machine Builder for their Metal Finishing manufacturing facility. This opportunity will be on 1st shift with a starting wage of $18.00 per hour for this direct hire opportunity.

Duties of a Machine Builder:

  • Responsible for the setup and performing manual operations required to form assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Measures, repairs, reworks, and calibrates hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances. Electrical Assembly
  • Measures the quality of the output of the employee, team, or department (e.g. Non-conforming products, redlines, rework, warranty cost, errors, rejects) - Cost of Poor Quality
  • Measures the output of the team or department (e.g. efficiency, productivity, transactions completed per employee or labor hour).
  • Reviews blueprint diagrams, drawings, and specifications with Engineering to determine assembly and/or wiring schematic requirements.
  • Obtains assemblies and subassemblies, purchased parts,
    and other necessary materials.
  • Builds the control cabinet and wires devices. Aligns, fits and assembles parts to form final assemblies.
  • Repairs, reworks, and calibrates hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems.
  • Tests performance of electromechanical components. 
  • Verifies dimensions and clearances of parts.



Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Has an associate's degree or equivalent in related field
  • 1 - 3 years' experience - Minimum of 1-3 years' of previous experience working in related field
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems, methods, procedures, equipment, and practices; experience with continuous improvement techniques and lean manufacturing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes, practices, tools, and equipment.
