Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm

$17-22 an hour

ResourceMFG is hiring for a legal assistant for a local electronics manufacturing facility. This position is working with the head of Human Resources. Duties include


  • Assist with all procedural aspects of patent prosecution. Including, but not limited to, filing applications, responses, IDSs, and transmittal of documents.
  • Review and manage files/docket for deadlines.
  • Electronic filing with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Pay out royalties.
  • Track patents.
  • Follow strict processes/procedures and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Handles the day-to-day administration duties.
  • Filing and other light administrative duties as needed.


  • Scheduling on-site/virtual interviews.
  • Ordering lunches for meetings.
  • Conducting pre-screen surveys of potential candidates.
  • Coordinating out-of-state travel for engineers/technicians.
  • Light filing / administrative duties as needed.
  • Data entry.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a legal clerk or executive administrative assistant required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience as an administrative assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department highly preferred.
  • Associate degree and/or Certification in Legal field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, paralegal studies, HR or a related field preferred.


  • Strong understanding of administrative and clerical processes. 
  • Strong grammatical skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with USPTO procedures, rules and requirements and knowledge of U.S. and PCT patent rules and procedures highly desired.


  • Supports Intellectual Property and Human Resources Director.
  • Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.
  • High level of attention to detail and adherence to strict deadlines.
