Job Description:

  • Read and interpret blueprints assuring accurate weld fixture and fabrication setup
  • Load program for torch work
  • Perform de-burring, inspection, cleaning, and skidding during torch machine cycle time to maximize machine usage
  • MIG/TIG/Stick welding, repairing worn/defective parts
  • Inspect in-process and completed parts per the design specifications while advising Supervisor of defects
  • Accurately complete all required data, quantity of parts, etc. 
  • Participate with Manufacturing Engineering Department to develop methods of fabricating specific parts, as required
  • Advise Team Lead or Supervisor of time discrepancies relative to production rates, material issues, fabrication problems, and other issues
  • Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping for machine and work area
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Pay: $20 - $22/hr Depending on Experience

Location: Rosemont and Canada

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of general welding experience
  • Welding certificate is a plus
  • Prior MIG welding experience required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to successfully maintain and create reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information in an efficient and effective manner
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as algebra and geometry
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Proficient in software such as Mapics, Microsoft Office, and Lotus Notes
  • Required to pass certification procedures for GMAW within 120 days in the position
  • Stainless steel certification for 316L
