sourceMFG has a Great Opportunity for a SR. HR Generalist within a cosmetic manufacturing in the city of Chatworth, CA.

 

Pay: 80K – 120K

Hours: 8am – 5pm

Monday to Friday

 

Genera l Description:

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist provides a wide variety of both Complex and routine administrative services.  Performs senior level Human Resources related duties and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the functional areas: compensation, employee relations, recruiting, training, compliance, HRIS, human resource metrics, and rewards and retention.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Administrative Functions:
  • Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Environmental Health and Safety procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in line with the company’s objectives and policies at all times.
  • Assists in development/maintenance of personnel policies & procedures and employee handbook to comply with employment law updates.
  • Assists in roll out of annual performance evaluation program and trains managers wherever needed.
  • Prepares reports and identifies trends in employee related issues, turnover and performance trends and provides solutions to operations leadership
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of effective training and development programs to meet SOP requirements, skill proficiency and development needs.
  • Support recruiting efforts and participate in the planning and execution of activities and events to fill all open positions in the assigned area.  Conduct pre-employment screenings and facilitate onboarding when needed.
  • Handles recruitment of high caliber talent for all job openings.

  • HR Legal compliance. Staying on top of all bills that are passed throughout the year that affect all aspects of HR and Payroll and, implement measures to comply.
  • Conduct supervisor and manager training on HR laws
  • Other duties may be added by HR Director
    • Represent company as a visible, approachable, and professional HR Partner. 
    • Assists both employees and management with work-related personal concerns requiring resolution to facilitate maximum engagement and both individual and team productivity, with special attention to company relevant policies
    • Provides counseling and direction to employees, facilitates communication, and helps to resolve conflicts that impact employee engagement
    • Provides counsel and support to managers/supervisors on issues of company/HR policy application, production operation Human Resource needs and provides HR services to team members.
    • Practices strong engagement with all team members including accepting diversity of ideas and thoughts, sharing responsibility for success, demonstrating honesty and integrity, helping employees solve problems and showing respect
    • Works with operations to resolve employee relations issues. Investigates, counsels, and assists in resolving disputes.
    • Develops proactive communications, employee relations/recognition and appreciation programs.
    • Conducts ER investigations, analyze organizational health issues, and work in partnership with the HR Manager to develop and execute plans to address problem areas
    • Provides guidance on employment related issues (such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, diversity, corrective action, and progressive discipline) to operations leadership
    • Monitors FMLA and other leaves
  1. Employee Relations Functions:

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Occasionally walking between buildings.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business or Human Resources Management (BSHRM) is highly preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications is preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ Human Resources role in Consumer Products; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of Federal & California Employment Law
  • Experience with Ceridian HRIS Administration is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • Required Advanced reporting, designing and data analytic skills. Strong math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Advance PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
  • Demonstration of continual education. Attends seminars or reads training materials for continuing education and shows initiative in learning industry trends.
  • Ability to lead, thinks strategically, set, and achieve objectives, and influence organizational change. Strong time-management, organizational, planning people and leadership skills.
  • Constantly work to improve processes and consistently reviews all existing procedures for possible change, maintains and expands technical knowledge. Makes suggestions for improvements
  • Strong English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing. Ability to communicate clearly and thoroughly with Management and personnel and interpersonal relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous process improvement, innovation, and elimination of Non-value-added tasks.
  • Demonstration of a sense of urgency in achieving goals, contributing to business objectives, and responding to company needs.
