Job Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months relevant MIG welding experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to use basic hand and power tools
  • Basic Math
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to read blueprints/drawings
  • Hand eye coordination and dexterity
  • Basic metallurgy knowledge

Job Responsibilities

  • Experience on forklift and powered industrial equipment, a plus
  • Apprenticeship, vocational training, and/or certification, a plus
  • Robotic welding experience, a plus
  • Electric arc and inert gas experience
  • Follow standard work instructions as assigned
  • Follow safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Perform hands-on tasks
  • Machine set up
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling metal products
  • Grinding and polishing finished products
  • Work in a team environment
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Meet production standards
  • Lift up to 50lbs, stand, bend, and reach
  • Maintain clean and organized workspace
  • Accurate recordkeeping and inventory documentation
  • Testing and inspection of product

RESOURCEMFG IS NOW HIRING STRUCTURE FITTER WELDERS IN THE PORT OF CATOOSA!

Pay: $19-22/hour plus $1/hour shift differential; depending upon experience

Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00 pm p-3:30 am, overtime will be required depending on workload.

Job Description:

Must pass American Welding Society 2g Plate Test and Canadian Welding Bureau.

  • Two years’ structural steel welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to weld together fabricated parts of structural metal products in shop with Mig welding process; plan sequence of operation.
  • Obtain specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun; connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician and be able to set welding machine wire feed.
  • Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Examine weld for bead size, overall appearance, and other specifications.
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1 standard is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and position components, manually, using overhead or jib cranes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodations.

TEST”“The welding candidate will need to successfully complete a 2G (horizontal) steel plate test to AWS D1.1 standards using the GMAW (Mig) welding process with metal-cored wire.”
