Roles and Responsibilities
A.Dimensionalinspection of each vessel to ensure built to drawing specificationsafter fit-up and prior to weld out.
•Any discrepancies should be noted and communicated to the Welding Supervisor, with the vessels being
sent back for repair.
B.Measurement and verification of proper weld size per ASME code and drawings for welds after final weld out on all
vessels. Extra attention should be given to welds coming off the robotic welders.
C.Visual inspection of all welds.
•Check for pinholes, cracks, undercuts, lack of weld, etc..
D.Complete and document all findings in the final weld checklist
E.CompleteHill Phoenix/Customer Specificinspection forms (To be determined)
F.Witness and sign-off on travelers for final closures and internal welds.
G.Ensure travelers are filledout with heat numbers, weld IDs, and internal inspection has been signed prior to testing.
*Target of 1 month rotation between QC weld and QC assembly positions
1.Experience usingstandard measurement equipment (i.e. calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.)Basic computer skills–familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Office products
Strong communication skills and ability to work with interdepartmental teams
2.The position requires working and communicating with multiple departments on a daily basis to help
identify and solve problems on the shop floor
3.Previous welding and fabricating experience
