Description

A client of ours is in need of a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician opportunity is Direct Hire, with hourly salary ranging between $25-$30 hourly. This position requires performing a wide range and variety of maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant property, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition; diagnose problems and work in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment, processes and facilities.

Duties of a Maintenance Technician include:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and make repairs to equipment including plumbing, electrical, roof, ceiling, and floor.  Repair or replace components or contact outside vendor services as needed.  Equipment ranges from punch presses, saws, CNC machining centers, lathes, drills, four-slide machines, cranes and forklifts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties such as replace filters, maintain fluid levels and replace equipment component units as required.
  • Repair or improve machinery as directed by Facilities Manager or work with outside vendor to complete repair and reduce downtime.  Familiarity with the following:
    1. Controls interface (PLC, sensors).  Ability to write programs is helpful.
    2. Purchasing components needed for repair or improvement
    3. Bend and hang conduit
    4. Run pneumatic pipes
    5. Hydraulics (actuators, valves, etc)
    6. Pneumatics (actuators, valves, etc)
    7. Relay Switches
    8. Wire diagrams
  • Perform general fabrication or welding duties to make repair parts or items for improvements to equipment.
  • Work with outside service providers such to find and procure replacement items effectively. 
  • Work with outside service providers such as landscapers, cleaning service etc. to provide direction or assistance.
  • Respond to requests from computerized work order entry system and/or email requests from staff.  Prioritize work appropriately.
  • Identify and look to improve safety.  Knowledge in safety (lockout / tag out, arc flash, fire prevention, crane and forklift operations).  Insure plant and equipment meet the safety codes.

 

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in maintenance or electrical work.
  • Journeyman card preferred, not required.
  • Ability to obtain forklift, crane, man lift licenses.
  • Provide own tools.
  • Ability to use tools including measuring equipment, power tools, power equipment, etc.
  • Good communication is required.  Ability to email effectively, meet with leads, educate employees, and participate in other department’s daily management board meetings.
