Are you looking for a challenge to fine-tune your skills and grow with a local manufacturer in the Granite City area? We are currently on the search for top talent who always strive to go that extra mile and have a hunger to succeed! We are looking for mechanically inclined Machine Operators to run and manage our machines that automatically measure, print, cut, fold, and seal our materials to form bags. (Much cooler than it sounds!!) We are searching for 2nd shift operators only

$15+/hour depending on experience

  • Thread materials from parent roll using guides and rollers through various stages
  • Start, observe and adjust machine to ensure it’s running properly
  • Always paying close attention to all aspects of Quality and maintain set goals with minimum waste
  • Lead Bag inspectors and bundlers and assist in detecting poor quality
  • Perform daily maintenance on machine including: oiling, cleaning, re-taping and scraping down
  • Assist Maintenance with repairs to get equipment up and running in the shortest amount of time
  • Able to follow instruction and requests from Supervisor and Management
  • Able to communicate well with other team members
  • Able to multi-task as well as work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, standing, kneeling, bending, twisting

Job Requirements

  • High School, GED or Diploma
  • Associate degree from accredited college preferred
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a related industry
  • Work Experience with computers and other business equipment

  • Ethical Conduct

Operates machine in proper manner, maintaining high production and a quality product, with a minimum of waste, while maintaining set goals of machine speeds Reads and initials work order to verify knowledge of order specifications at the beginning of each order. Performs set-up on machine, by setting formers, changing gears, lining up paper and making roll changes. Have the ability to recall and set bag recipes from the equipment’s computer systems for each set up. References work orders for paper supply, and requisitions paper from the warehouse when necessary. Starts and Monitors machine continually at all points. Instructs and leads Bag Inspector and Bundler. Assists Small Bag Inspector in detecting poor quality.
