Hours: 7 am-4:30 pm

Pay Rate: $20 an hour

Job Description: This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of safety and office programs to assure the highest possible degree of training for teammates. The EHS Safety Coordinator will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with operations and maintenance teams.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Present safety training classes and new employee orientation to ensure proper understanding of topics
  2. Maintain SDS system and manage in-house chemical inventories
  3. Manage safety improvement projects such as creating emergency response stations, detailed inventory checklist systems and record keeping systems
  4. Conduct safety inspections of facility including the general production floor, warehouse and areas listed in the working at heights program. Resolve potential safety issues identified during inspections
  5. Conduct and record Lockout Tagout practical audits with the Maintenance team members
  6. Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement workstation design changes
  7. Work with Production Management to improve work areas regarding Housekeeping and Ergonomics
  8. Implement solutions to safety hazards as directed by management
  9. Update safety programs and ensure content includes all regulated and mandated OSHA and Sealed Air Corporation content
  10. Create safety training PowerPoints. Ensure content includes all regulated and mandated OSHA and Sealed Air Corporation content
  11. Attend Sealed Air Corporate Safety Webex Meetings (to be used as a learning resource)
  12. Complete and document compliance inspections on safety systems such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and emergency response equipment. Work with the safety manager to ensure discrepancies get resolved
  13. Perform other work-related tasks and projects as required

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Safety Coordinator experience required
  • Associates Degree: Environmental, Health and Safety or Business Administration preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
  • Ability to type +45 WPM

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • English/Spanish Bi-lingual
  • Ability to identify potential safety concerns and construct creative solutions
  • Systems oriented personality – enjoys organizing information, creating efficient procedures, and participating actively in process management
