Maintenance Mechanic Assistant

The maintenance mechanic assistant position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service

Schedule: Monday -Friday 8am-5pm

Key duties/responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic Assistant

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

1. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
2. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of Bubble-wrap and production machines.
3. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
4. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
5. Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools: Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
6. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
7. Assemble production machinery which includes setting and aligning:
   1. Bearings, Shafts, Belts, Gears, Sprockets, Chain, Blades
8. Lubricates and cleans parts
9. Metal Working
   1. Cutting, Grinding, Drilling
10. Lifting, Carrying, 50# lift min.
11. Comply with OSHA safety and health rules
