One of our clients along Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo is looking to add a Compounder to their crew!
Job Description: The Compounder I role ensures quality and accurate compounding of flavors to be packaged and shipped to customers. The Compounder sets up and operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guideline, and reads and interprets formula instructions to select, position and secure machinery.
Shifts: 1st, 6:30am-3:00pm or 7:00am-3:30pm M-F with potential overtime if necessary
? Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist other compounders,
packagers and cooks.
? Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify
management of any malfunctions.
? Prepare raw materials for processing.
? Lift raw materials, finished products and packed items, manually or using hoists.
? Measure amounts of raw materials according to the formula and follow
compounding instructions to achieve a quality finished product.
? Dump raw materials into equipment prior to mixing.
? Mix ingredients according to specified procedures and formulas.
? Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
? Maintain clean/safe work areas, machines, equipment, and product packaging
according to safety and SQF standards (proper GMP’s and sanitary procedures).
? Perform minor repairs to machines, such as replacing damaged or worn parts.
? Share duties of disposing of office trash and recyclables and restocking supplies in
the restroom, break room areas and on the production floor.
? Warehouse clean-up.
? Understands the packaging process in the correct order to be able to step in if needed.

High school diploma (or GED) or equivalent combination of education and
0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related field
Food manufacturing or compounding experience helpful, but not required
