Description

Maintenance Technician's are needed at client of ours, located in the Portage, MI area. This a 2nd or 3rd shift Direct Hire opportunity, with hourly salary ranging between $30-$35 hourly. Job duties consist of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various industrial machines and process equipment.

Maintenance Technician duties include:

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical issues with minimum assistance in a timely manner.
  • Formal training on PLC’s and/or computer operated control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a laptop or other interface device for trouble shooting PLC or computer control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interrupt hydraulic and pneumatic drawings as well as the function of the circuits.
  • Complete scheduled, non-scheduled and emergency repair tasks in a timely manner.
  • Submit work request for issues requiring repairs or follow up.
  • Complete work request documentation on a daily bases including labor and parts used.
  • Identifying parts required for repairs and work with purchasing agent to procure the parts.
  • Follow up on open work orders requiring parts to complete repairs. 
  • Assist in the planning activities such as daily work list, estimating time required for a task, preventative maintenance task or procedures.
  • Provide positive attitude while interacting with personnel plant wide.
  • Provide training and guidance to Maintenance B level II, Maintenance C level I and other personnel to further their growth.
  • Assist operations by explaining operational errors that cause unnecessary downtime.
  • Notify department shift supervisor when repairs have been completed and equipment is ready for production.
  • Capable of efficiently working with little to no supervision.
  • All other work activities as directed by the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Have a Government issued Journeyman card, 8000 hour documentation or acceptable equivalent experience. 
  • Formal training on PLC’s and/or computer operated controls or acceptable equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interrupt hydraulic and pneumatic drawings as well as the function of the circuits.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize a laptop or other interface device for trouble shooting PLC or computer control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interrupt and understand technical blue prints, drawings and schematics.
  • Be capable of reverse engineering/drawing schematics for equipment without documentation.
  • Work overtime as directed for emergency repairs and to meet production needs.
  • Be capable of safely troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical issues with compliance of MIOHSA and EAS safety requirements.
  • Be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk 8 hours, including up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and repetitive motion of hands.
  • Occasional climbing as required.
  • Be able to work around various oils, coolants, cleaners, etc. in the normal performance of job duties.
  • Familiar with Quality Management System (QMS) for IATF requirements and Environmental Management System (EMS) for ISO 14001 (2015)
