A local metal fabrication company is looking for a Tool and Die Machinist.

Job Description for a Tool and Die Machinist:

Read and interpret blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make, or modify existing tooling, tools for new or old job prints
Set up and operate all tool room machines for specific form tool, tap, drills, welding, or holder for grinding
Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Supports machine/tooling set-up personnel as needed
Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools, welding equipment
Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics and composites
Properly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling

Tool and Die Machinist Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.

Basic Qualifications:

At least a two-year technology degree highly desirable; applicable experience may be accepted
The individual must interact with people at all levels and communicate effectively
Must have strong communications skills both verbal and written
Must be able to perform basic math functions. Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Must understand basic computer skills
Shows ability to use sound and prudent judgment and problem-solving skills
