Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Read and interpret blueprints to determine specification, inspection procedures, adjustment and certification methods and measuring instruments required.
? Inspect or measure materials, machined parts, and final product for conformance to specifications.
? Measure dimensions of parts to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, pin/bore/thread gauges and comparators.
? Reject materials or parts not meeting specifications.
? Record inspection data and write inspection reports describing results and needed corrections.
? Discuss inspection results with all relevant personnel and suppliers.
? Calibrate inspection instruments and equipment according to internal calibration procedures
? Provide input and implementation of process improvements relating to department activities
? Maintain consistent and regular attendance to ensure that inspected parts and materials are available to the production line. ? Other tasks as assigned.
High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or vocational training in mechanical inspection, manufacturing technology or related field desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated. Green Belt Six Sigma preferred. Knowledge of quality control, inspection and manufacturing processes.
? Knowledge of mathematics as it applies to inspection procedures.
? Verbal communication skills: speaks clearly and persuasively to convey information effectively; actively listens to understand, asks questions as appropriate and responds well to questions. Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required.
? Written communication skills: writes clearly and informatively to present inspection data effectively.
? Organizational skills: Manages and completes tasks on time, plans, prioritizes, and organizes work to meet deadlines with excellent follow through and attention to detail.
