Job Responsibilities
Good communication skills with internal and external customers.
Pick order tickets and process them by completing any required paperwork, locating items in the warehouse.
Pack orders and prepare them to be shipped.
Inspect the items to ensure that they are not damaged or missing.
Process all types of customer orders utilizing the company's order system.
Know the different types of packaging products and package each order according to weight, height, size or customer requirements.
Sort picks tickets by customer type and routing.
Read and understand the different types of customer orders which includes the customer number, customer’s purchase order number, ship to address, bill to address, specified routing, print date and time, all comments, line item number, part’s description, location of part, quantity ordered, quantity shipping and quantity backordered.
Notify customer service reps when an item is backordered on a priority shipment or when a routing change is needed.
Skills:
Possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to run inventory reports and view computer file data.
Must have strong follow-through in working with shippers and able to follow direction and instructions.
In addition, able to work under pressure, prioritize work and possess strong organizational skills.
