Other duties may include feasibility and safety testing, research and development, oversight of operations to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and standards, and team leadership.
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and assembly systems.
Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing/assembly systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
Analyze, plan and improve work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum manufacturing efficiency.
Develop innovative solutions that benefit production efficiency, quality output and reduces production cost.
Perform process analyses (sequence and content of assembly steps, time studies, material flow analysis) and develop assembly line concepts.
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
Implement and support Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) activities.
Prepare all associated project assembly drawings, schematics, conceptual layouts, presentations and any assembly or technical documentation required
Job Requirements
A high aptitude for mechanical equipment and tooling design for the improvement of existing manufacturing processes
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems knowledge
B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field OR a minimum of five years of experience
Solid 3D CAD design skills with Autodesk Inventor, but experience with Solid works or equivalent
Expert user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications.
Thorough knowledge of mechanical design and engineering techniques and ability to apply accepted engineering standards to custom projects.
Must be very knowledgeable in assembly sequences and methodologies for manual (hands-on) assembly systems.
Experience in preparing project documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, technical writeups, etc.
