Job Information


JOB PURPOSE:  Assign work appropriately to ensure production and safety objectives are met, procedures are followed. Meet production schedules, and make production decisions that assure customer satisfaction, quality, safety and environmental objectives are met.



Performance Standards


  • Meet production schedules to maintain customer needs and maximum production efficiency.
  • Maintain the Quality standards to achieve customer satisfaction with quality products.
  • Manufacture products with the least amount of scrap materials to assure company profitability.


  • As measured by department efficiency forecast & UPH
  • Meet or exceed budgeted labor cost/unit.
  • Reduce labor costs by cross training employees to reduce labor cost on assembly lines and set up jobs.
  • Department efficiency, uptime, yield, and scrap at or within budgeted levels.
  • Equipment set up properly. Operators trained thoroughly on control plans and SOR’s.
  • Effective implementation of work and personnel policies in a timely fashion through coaching.
  • Must be willing to attend training courses required by management, including customer specific training requirements.
  • Plan, organize and measure work performed. Report  progress as required.
  • Ability to lead pre-production meeting.
  • Ensure customer specific training requirements with subordinates.
  • Must have the ability to access the skills of subordinates to perform their manufacturing duties.
  • Project positive attitude and professionalism. Deal with concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Perform within company and OSHA guidelines. Reinforce safety daily. Set the example.
  • Supply customer with best possible quality at least possible costs.
  • Reduce cost, improve quality and delivery.

Job Requirements

In order for a candidate/employee to be considered qualified to perform the functions of the Team Leader position the following skills, abilities and requirements apply:



  • High School Diploma Required, Associate’s Degree Preferred.



  • Must have a minimum of three years of manufacturing experience as well as a good understanding of manufacturing operations, processes and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting background preferred.



  • Must maintain professional appearance and actions. Good company and community citizen. Must be aggressive, innovative, and perform job duties with little or no direction. Must accept changes as the norm..... not the exception.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and human relations skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of and the effective use of customer specific quality systems must be successfully achieved within 2 years from hire date. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities related to product realization and design such as APQP/FMEA/PPAP/MSA/SPC within 2 years from hire date. The above mentioned skill sets will be included and evaluated through our Talent Management System process.
