Local Heating and Refrigeration Under general supervision, brazes together components using torch or brazing machine and flux.
Guides torch and rod along joint of work pieces to heat to brazing temperature, melt braze alloy, and bond work pieces together.
Sets up equipment, selects torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy from data charts or work order.
Performs a variety of assembly, fabrication, production, and operator tasks.
Understands data charts, specification diagrams, and work orders.
Able to braze at approximately 1000 DPMO leak rate.
Able to braze at full line rate.
The person in this position brazes together components using a torch or brazing machine and flux.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Guide the torch and rod along the joint of work pieces to heat to brazing temperature, melt braze alloy, and bond work pieces together.
• Assist with setting up equipment, selecting torch tip, flux and brazing alloy based on data charts or work order.
• Perform a variety of assembly, fabrication, production and operator tasks.
The person in this position uses hand welding and flame cutting equipment, such as arc welders, gas welders and gas torches, to weld together metal components.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires at least 1 year related experience with CU/AL or AL/AL joints.
Requires precision control and dexterity with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to determine required equipment and settings.
Able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
