ResourceMFG is working with a great company that is looking for a Centerless Grinder Operator!

Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm, OT Required depending on workload

Pay: $18-$23 an hour depending on experience

The Centerless Grinder Operator is responsible to set-up and operate a #2 Cincinnati centerless grinding machine to produce finished pieces with extremely tight tolerances which must be held on both diameter and surface finish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Logs attendance and labor hours against jobs utilizing Company timeclock system. 
  • Marks or tags material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
  • Maintains lot traceability & records data detailed on job routers.
  • Reviews job router and understands methods and products which will be created.
  • Reads and understands 2D mechanical drawings / blueprints.
  • Prepares all material surfaces to be ground, ensuring no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter. 
  • Sets up and operates a thru feed #2 Cincinnati centerless grinding machine. 
  • Able to perform all aspects of centerless grinding, including mounting grinding and regulating wheels on spindles with wrenches; dressing wheels to specifications, using dressing device; adjusting controls to set specified grinding speeds, feed rates, and spacing between wheel faces; positions and secures work rest at specified height, using wrenches; lifts and positions workpiece manually or with hoist, and secures it between wheels and on work rest; starts machine and observes operation; verifies dimensions of ground workpiece for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometer.
  • Performs machine inspections. Performs equipment maintenance as needed. Identifies/reports problems with machine or machining process to avoid scrap
  • Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements. 
  • Reads and understands shop routers, work instructions, customer prints and drawings.
  • Inspects parts to verify all characteristics before signing the router and forwarding to subsequent operations or shipment. 
  • Operates equipment safely and uses required PPE.
  • Ensures tasks are completed in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Maintains tools and work area in a clean, orderly condition.
  • Adheres to all Company Policies and Work Instructions.
  • Produces parts in a timely manner as compared to historical data.
  • Maintains a good attendance record

All other duties as assigned.


 

Job Requirements

• Education Requirements: High School diploma or greater required. 
• Skill requirements: Previous experience in a similar position is required. Must be able to understand basic manufacturing drawing dimensions. Must be able to perform own set-ups and operate independently. Must be able to check parts using micrometers and profilometer.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and random drug screens.
• Work environment: Shop environment.
• Dress code: PPE required.
