Resource MFG is looking for an experienced Process Technician.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain control of processes for injection molding. Verify correct set-up of molds, processes and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.

• Establish proper molding conditions. Perform process monitoring and troubleshooting part inspections and various other functions to ensure part conformity and quality.

• Identifies and corrects problems: applies experience and knowledge in making adjustments; documents changes; addresses questionable parts; and monitors and focuses on scrap reduction.

• Ensures product is consistent with product quality and adherence to the Quality System. Verify paperwork for jobs is completed at startup and shut down of production jobs.

• Responsible for performing mold changes and assist with material changes according to the schedule.

• The ability to setup, start, troubleshoot injection molds and the injection molding process.

• Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

• Basic understanding of electricity and electronics as they apply to the molding floor. The ability to check fuses, change out heater bands, check voltages, for example.

• Read and follow the daily production schedule and prioritize work for improved efficiency

• Maintain setup sheets and record changes and problems that are encountered. Communicate these during handoff to next shift.

• Perform tooling change overs and tool maintenance.

• Must be willing to learn blow molding.

Required Education and Experience:

•  High school diploma/GED
•  Scientific molding training/certification preferred
•  3-5 years' direct experience
•  Must be willing to adjust work schedule as needed.

Summary/Objective: Develop optimum molding processes for manufacturing plastic components. Provide recommendations and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Provide support and leadership in the development of injection molding processes and tools. Essential Functions: • Develop, document and implement standard molding processes and methodologies. • Use scientific molding method to validate new molding processes and re-validate existing/legacy molds. • Perform OQ’s & PQ’s, documenting plastic parameters and run parameters. • Set upper and lower control limits for processes. • Research, design and develop manufacturing processes and new technologies. • Recommend and improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency. • Work with design, manufacturing, production, engineers and tooling during the entire development cycle. Emphasis on new mold sampling prior to transfer to production. • Participate in Tool Design Reviews and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing. • Troubleshoot molding and manufacturing processes and material issues. Work with internal and external resources to resolve molding and manufacturing issues and implement long term solutions. • Research, develop and implement manufacturing process controls, machinery modifications and improvements. • Provide input on new or alternate materials for cost reduction or molding improvements. • Perform any and all other duties assigned.
