Looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Howell, MI!

 

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.) Performs repairs and maintenance duties in maintaining building and adjacent walks and grounds, and keep equipment in clean, orderly, and functional conditions. Assist staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.

 

Your Role

 

  • Conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment, minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing repairs; paint, remodel and refurbish areas
  • Install and maintain humidifiers in production rooms and maintain appropriate temperatures per specifications.
  • Maintains exterior property, including outdoor pond in warmer seasons and shuts down for the winter, and snow removal where needed.
  • Remove and properly dispose of all recyclable materials.
  • Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.
  • Performs work according to standard procedure and by building's operational schedule.
  • Assist to officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.

Job Requirements

Your Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Related degree from a technical college preferred, or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 + years’ experience in machine repair, part replacement and ability to read and interpret manuals.
  • 1 + years’ experience performing routine and preventative maintenance
  • HVAC knowledge and understanding
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability in reading precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hoists, saws, drills and wrenches.
  • Understanding of minor electrical repairs or set up

 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

 

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to vibration, repetitive motion, bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling.
  • Ability to endure heat or cold conditions for a period of time.
  • Regular exposure to life bumble bees and insects.
  • Participates in building coverage by working evenings and Saturday rotation as required.
